PAL Named Most Punctual Asia Pacific Airline in August

Manila: London-based aviation analytics company Cirium has named Philippine Airlines (PAL) the most punctual airline among Asia Pacific carriers in August, scoring an 89.37 percent on-time performance (OTP) rating. The flag carrier’s OTP rating was significantly higher than the average 80.83 percent rating attained by the top 10 Asia Pacific airlines in the same month.

According to Philippines News Agency, PAL senior vice president for the Operations Group Roland Narciso stated, “We laud the efforts of our engineers, ground and flight teams for working towards on-time performance through operational efficiency.” He emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing on-time performance, which is crucial for operational reliability and customer satisfaction.

Cirium considers a flight on-time if the aircraft arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. This arrival data serves as a standard reliability metric that reflects travelers’ desire to reach their destinations on time and the necessity for airlines to comply with assigned airport slot times. The firm tracks the on-time performance of airlines and airports, producing punctuality reports for global aviation.

It is noteworthy that PAL also achieved the top spot in punctuality in April 2025 and was recognized as the second most punctual airline in January 2025 and October 2024.
