Poland provides 501,600 does of AstraZeneca vaccine to Laos

The government of Poland has provided 501,600 does of AstraZeneca vaccine to support Covid-19 fight in the Lao PDR.

The handover ceremony was held on Jan 7 in Vientiane between Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the European Union Delegation to the Lao PDR Baiba Zarina, and Minister of Health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith in the presence of relevant officials of both sides.

“Team Europe will continue to provide more vaccines to Laos to support its fight against COVID-19,” said Mrs Baiba Zarina.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister Bounfeng expressed thanks to the government of Poland for its constant provision of anti-Covid-19 support, contributing significantly to Laos’ efforts to achieve a 70% Covid-19 vaccination coverage.

Team Europe, consisting of European Union, EU member states and financial institutes, is mobilizing financial and technical assistance for addressing impacts of Covid-19 around the world, according to Baiba Zarina.
