Russia assures that BRICS summit will be held at a high level

(KPL/Prensa Latina) The organization of the BRICS Summit, which will take place from October 22 to October 24 in the Russian city of Kazan, will be of a high level and will correspond to the format of the event, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said.

Everything will be organized at the level corresponding to such a summit, which is actually the main event on the international agenda these days, Peskov told the press.

Given the process of preparing the entire infrastructure for this summit, the spokesman sees no need to prolong it, adding that ‘there is no such possibility either for the participants or for the organizers.’

On January 1, Russia assumed the rotating presidency of the BRICS group for 2024, a year that began with the admission of new members.

In addition to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, to which the group owes its initials, it now also includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Russia plans to host more than 250 events in 11 regions this year
in the context of its presidency, including the BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan.
