Vietnamese Peace Committee’s Diplomatic Visit to Laos Strengthens Bilateral Ties

Vientiane: A delegation from the Vietnamese Peace Committee, led by Uong Chu Luu, former Vice Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, visited the Lao PDR from December 8 to 11 at the invitation of the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity. The visit aimed to reinforce the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

According to Lao News Agency, on December 9, the delegation met with Lao Vice President Bounthong Chitmany. The Vice President acknowledged the visit as a significant step towards enhancing the close relationship between Laos and Vietnam. Both parties commended the productive collaboration between their respective peace committees.

The visit also included bilateral talks between the Lao and Vietnamese peace committees, chaired by Lao National Assembly Vice President Sommad Pholsena and Uong Chu Luu. These discussions focused on recent developments in both countries, shared experiences on peace-related activities, and deliberated on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

During their stay, the Vietnamese delegation engaged with local leaders in Vientiane Province and explored cultural, historical, and economic sites in Vientiane Capital and its surrounding areas.
