Some 165 new daily cases of Covid-19 infection have been reported over the past 24 hours with the total reaching 144,320 including 1,731 active cases and 632 deaths.

Of the new confirmed cases, 138 cases were classified as domestic infections and 27 as imported cases.

The local infections were detected in Vientiane with 60, Savannakhet 22, Huaphan and Saravan ten each and Xieng Khuang seven.

On Sunday, some 99 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide, Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health, Dr. Sisavath Soutthanilaxay told a press conference this morning.

As of Mar 7, over 5.08 million people, equivalent to 69.43% of population in the country, have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine with over 4.36 million people, accounting for 59.42% of the population, given all recommended doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
