Satellite Imagery Initiated Over Arbor Metals Jarnet Lithium Property in James Bay, Quebec

Map of Arbor Metal Corp.’s Jarnet Lithium Claims

Arbor’s Jarnet Lithium Mine is located in the James Bay region of Quebec and is comprised of 47 map-designated claims that cover an approximate area of 3,759 hectares.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 17, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Arbor Metals Corp. (the “Company” or “Arbor“) (TSXV: ABR, FWB: 432) announces that it has initiated DIRT Exploration of Cape Town, South Africa, to carry out a long-wave infrared survey (“LWIR“) and interpretation of high-resolution satellite imagery over the four blocks comprising the Company’s Jarnet Lithium Project and surrounding area in the James Bay region of Quebec. The Jarnet Lithium Project covers approximately 3,759 hectares and comprises 70 map-designated claims.

Located less than two km northwest of Patriot Battery Metals Inc.’s (“PMET”) CV-5 pegmatite target, the Jarnet South block is the subject of Arbor’s ongoing exploration efforts. PMET recently reported (PMET news release, March 29th, 2023) a high-grade extension (Nova Zone) of the CV 5 target of 87.7 metres averaging 3.13 per cent Li2O (lithium oxide), including 19.8 metres of 5.28 per cent Li2O.

LWIR analysis has the ability to map or identify mineral distribution over extensive areas covered by foliage and shallow cover through reflectance spectroscopy against a set of known standards and proprietary processing of satellite data. The LWIR analysis can view mineral spectra to shallow depths, thanks to its ground-penetrating nature, utilizing the long-wave bands of infrared radiation. This survey, together with satellite imagery analysis, will incorporate data and known pegmatite occurrences that have been identified from the Company’s 2022 reconnaissance-scale field program.

Arbor is currently compiling existing assessment and regional data on the four Jarnet claim blocks and surrounding properties. While some of the neighbouring properties have received limited attention on lithium mineralization, there is available geological and geophysical assessment data relating to exploration for base (Cu, Zn, Pb) and precious (Au, Ag) metal targets. The Jarnet South Block has southern and eastern boundaries contiguous with PMET Corvette Property, while the North Block is contiguous to PMET’s Corvette Property on the southwest boundary.

The DIRT interpretive report and the Company’s compilation will be used to refine proposed exploration targets on the Jarnet Project for the 2023 field season.

Note: The Company cautions the discoveries and observations on properties in proximity to the Company’s properties are not necessarily indicative of the presence of similar mineralization or geology on the company’s properties.

French delegation experience culture of Thai ethnic minority group in Yen Bai

A working delegation led by Marie-Christine Segui, vice president in charge of international cooperation of the Val-de-Marne department council of France, on April 17 visited homestay tourism households and artisans who are restoring and preserving the traditional culture of the Thai ethnic minority group in Nghia Lo township in the northern province of Yen Bai.

The activity was part of a cooperation programme between Yen Bai province and Val-de-Marne.

The delegation witnessed firsthand how the homestay owners support tourists to experience the cultural and spiritual lives of the Thai people.

They also learned about creative approaches to community-based tourism development, such as renovating houses in the cultural style of the Thai ethnic group, and building souvenir stalls decorated with traditional Thai dresses and clothing.

Visiting an ancient Thai script class of artisan Lo Tuyen Dung in Nghia Lo township, they were introduced to ancient Thai and newly printed books used as teaching materials for students and people in the locality; the writing and reading of the ancient Thai script and exploring the folk culture of the Thai people through proverbs and folk music.

At the event, Segui suggested Nghia Lo township continue encouraging households to join in community-based tourism to introduce tourists to the natural beauty, people, and traditional culture of ethnic groups in Muong Lo.

Earlier, the delegation offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at a memorial dedicated to the late leader in Nghia Lo township and visited the provincial museum in Yen Bai city./.

Indonesia considers tourist tax on foreign travellers

The Indonesian government is considering imposing a tax on foreign tourists after a series of incidents in which badly behaved foreigners have violated laws or customs, local media reported.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno told reporters that the planned tax plan was “currently being studied” and he expected the study to wrap up in the coming weeks so that they can discuss and decide the matter.

Meanwhile, businesses fear the imposition of this tax will deter tourists from traveling to Indonesia, harming the tourism industry at a time when the sector is still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In early April, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan also called for the new levy to be imposed soon, saying that Bali is one of the cheapest tourist destinations in the world and that this has encouraged many low-income foreigners to the island.

He also said that this tourist paradise needs to shift away from mass tourism and focus on becoming a quality tourist destination.

Both ministers mentioned that the new “foreign tourist tax” could be used to develop and market the country’s tourist destinations.

Before the pandemic, Bali – well-known for its surf spots, rice terraces and nightlife – attracted 6.2 million foreign visitors a year and the tourism industry is estimated to contribute about 60% of the island’s economy.

Locals are increasingly frustrated with the disrespectful or bad behaviour of foreign tourists, from taking nude photos at sacred sites to traffic violations.

Last month, Bali Governor Wayan Koster said the island plans to ban tourists from renting motorbikes due to frequent violations of traffic regulations, including not wearing a helmet or lacking a driver’s license./.

Vietnam hopes to cultivate ties with Austria: Foreign Minister

Vietnam values and looks to strengthen friendship and cooperation with Austria, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son told his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg during their talks in Hanoi on April 17.

Schallenberg, who is on Vietnam visit from April 16-18 at the invitation of Son, hailed Vietnam’s increasingly important role and position in the region and the world. He affirmed that Austria expects to reinforce ties with Vietnam, its top partner in Southeast Asia.

The two ministers expressed their delight at the development of bilateral ties over the past five decades, especially in politics-diplomacy, economy-trade, development cooperation and culture.

Agreeing that there remains room to beef up bilateral ties, they agreed to facilitate all-level visits, especially those at high level via the Party, State and people-to-people exchange channels.

They vowed to step up cooperation between the two foreign ministries and mutual support between the two countries at multilateral forums and international organisations such as the United Nations, the Asia-Europe Meeting and the ASEAN-EU cooperation framework.

Minister Son lauded Austria for always being one of the top 10 trade partners of Vietnam in Europe over the past years. Despite COVID-19, two-way trade still hit 2.79 billion USD last year.

He suggested that both sides should work closely together, fully and effectively tap the benefits of the Europe-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). He also encouraged Austrian businesses to increase investments in Vietnam, particularly in areas of their strength such as infrastructure, renewable energy, new technology and semiconductor production.

The host proposed Austria soon complete the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and push forward the European Commission (EC)’s early removal of yellow card warning on Vietnam’s aquatic products.

Hailing Vietnam as a vibrant economy in Southeast Asia, Schallenberg wished for enhanced bilateral collaboration in green technology, transportation, health care and infrastructure.

He also took note of Son’s proposal regarding the early approval of the EVIPA by the Austrian Parliament and support for EC’s early lifting of the yellow card warning on seafood exports from Vietnam.

Host and guest discussed expanding joint cooperation in new areas like national defence-security, labour, and vocational training.

On the occasion, Son thanked the Austrian Government for creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to settle down in the European country.

The Austrian minister promised to continue assisting the Vietnamese community in upholding their role as a bridge for developing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Austria in the most effective manner.

On regional and global issues of shared concern, they underlined the importance of ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, as well as settling disputes through peaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)./.
