CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Around 30,452 households in the Northern Mindanao Region “graduated” from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In an interview Wednesday, DSWD-10 (Northern Mindanao) 4Ps focal person Oliver Inodeo said the figures were summed from last year’s and first quarter of 2024 data.
“When a household beneficiary ‘graduates’ from the program, it means that it has achieved the self-sufficiency status based on the assessment of our social workers,” he said.
4Ps is a conditional cash transfer program of the Philippine government for economically challenged families.
4Ps regional program coordinator Kenneth Haze Sanchez-Lustre said the program aims to improve the economic status of beneficiaries and elevate the living conditions and morale of families.
During a recent visit to the region, DSWD Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group Irene Dumlao said some 25,904 household beneficiaries graduated from the progra
m in 2023.
“Also, the 4Ps beneficiaries become active partners in connecting the government’s programs and services to other vulnerable and underprivileged families,” she said.
