Bacolod: Drug enforcement operatives have seized PHP1.632 million in shabu from five individuals in two separate buy-busts this week, a report of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported on Tuesday. About 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, two suspects were arrested at Purok Lilang, Barangay Banago by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU). ‘Teodolo,’ 18, and ‘Veronica’, 26, yielded 13 sachets of shabu totaling 100 grams with a standard drug price of PHP680,000.
According to Philippines News Agency, the CDEU received information from a confidential informant and from concerned citizens that alias Teodolo was actively involved in the sale of suspected shabu in the area. Last Sunday, the CDEU operatives collared three persons during an operation at Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1. ‘Koykoy,’ 28, ‘Mark,’ 23, and ‘James,’ 18, all residents of the said village, yielded 140 grams of shabu valued at PHP952,000.
The operation was carried out after the CDEU obtained information from a confidential informant that subject Koykoy was distributing illegal drugs to a buyer/customer in Purok Bolinao, a separate police report said. In a press statement, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said ‘these operations highlight the vital role of community cooperation in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.’
