Cavite: Four individuals identified as regional most wanted persons, facing charges of murder, illegal recruitment, rape, and qualified rape of a minor, have been apprehended in separate police operations conducted in Cavite and Laguna, as reported by the Police Regional Office (PRO) Calabarzon.
According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas, the Calabarzon police regional director, announced that these arrests were executed on Monday in various locations including Silang, Dasmari±as, and Tanza in Cavite, as well as in San Pedro City, Laguna.
In Cavite, the first suspect, alias ‘Luloy’, was apprehended in Barangay Kaong, Silang, on charges of murder. Following this, alias ‘Karen’ was arrested along Congressional Road in Dasmari±as City for violations related to the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act. Later in the evening, alias ‘Francis’ was taken into custody in Barangay Tres Cruses, Tanza, facing two counts of rape.
Meanwhile, in Laguna, alias ‘Victor’, aged 51, was arrested in Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City, for qualified rape of a minor. None of the suspects were recommended for bail.
Lucas stated that the operations adhered to the Supreme Court’s A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC directive, mandating the use of body-worn cameras and other recording devices during the execution of warrants.
He emphasized that these successful arrests demonstrate that criminals cannot evade justice within the region. Lucas also noted that these accomplishments are in line with the 7-Point Agenda of acting Philippine National Police Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., which focuses on enhancing police strategy and law enforcement efficiency.
Currently, the suspects are held at their respective police stations, with the warrants to be returned to the issuing courts for appropriate documentation.
