Cotabato city: As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Cotabato Light and Power Company, in collaboration with the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., provided food aid to families affected by floods in Maguindanao del Norte on Monday. A total of 150 sacks of rice were donated to the Office of Rep. Bai Dimple Mastura of Maguindanao del Norte’s lone district.
According to Philippines News Agency, Doreen Alve Almirante, the supervisor of the Cotabato Light Marketing and Communications Office, stated that the initiative aimed at providing immediate relief to the affected households in the lone district of Maguindanao del Norte. The floods impacted an estimated 200 families or 1,000 individuals across the towns of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Northern Kabuntalan, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Sultan Kudarat, and Sultan Mastura in Maguindanao del Norte.
In a statement, Valentin Saludes III, president and chief operating officer of Cotabato Light, emphasized that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting local communities during times of disaster and ensuring that affected families have access to essential supplies. Saludes expressed hope that the assistance would provide immediate relief and support to those affected, aiding in their recovery process.
Saludes further highlighted that the donation underscores the companies’ proactive efforts to support communities in need, especially during natural disasters. He conveyed a message of solidarity to those affected, assuring them of continued support in their journey towards recovery and building a safer, stronger community.
