Govt, NA’s Standing Committee discuss important issues

A meeting between the Government’s members and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly was held on Tuesday at National Convention Center to discus the mechanism of coordination.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh and President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane. Deputy Prime Ministers, the National Assembly’s Vice Presidents, cabinet members and representatives from ministries attended the meeting.
The meeting exchanged opinions aiming to move forward and create a consensus on the content and the scope of the responsibility of the Government to be considered during the coming 4th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly.
The participants focused on discussing, brainstorming and unifying important issues including the report on the implementation of the national socio-economic development plan, the state budget plan and the currency plan for the period of nine months, estimated at the end of last three months of 2022 and a direction of the plan for 2023.
They also discussed a report on policies and measures to provide currency to ensure fuel imports for the medium and long term; inflation control measures for the medium and long term; a report on the management of commodity prices and fuel imports in difficult economic conditions; a report on the implementation of the pilot project for mineral exploration, concession license; a report on the implementation of Vietnam-Laos investment projects in Lao PDR; a report on the development of land ports as defined in the logistics strategy for cargo transportation in Lao PDR and a plan for creating laws and amending laws from 2023-2025.
