Heavy rain last week causes landslides and collapsed roads in Meung

According to the preliminary information provided by the Bokeo Department of Labour and Social Welfare, the Provincial Disaster Management Committee of Bokeo reported that due to torrential heavy rain for several hours on Friday, August 26, 13 villages in Meung District were affected by flash flood, caused landslides, collapsed roads, and collapsed electric power poles with some villages experiencing power outages.

The relevant sectors are currently repairing and clearing the collapsed roads, 35 collapsed electric power poles (17 high-voltage power poles) with Hua Namkhaleu, Poumhin, Chakok, Tham Phabath and Long Phabath villages experiencing power outages. The employees of the Electricite dud Laos are accelerating to repair it as fast as possible.

Rice farms and livestock belonging to local people in many villages were damaged by the flooding.
