Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Suansavanh Viyaketh received on Apr 9 Nao Hayashi, Programme Specialist of the Asia and the Pacific Unit, World Heritage Centre, UNESCO as the latter was on a working visit to Laos to assess and observe the protection and conservation of the UNESCO’s world heritage town Luang Prabang.

Extending a sincere and warm welcome to the guest, Minister Suansavanh highly valued the visit by the UNESCO official and her delegation to review the protection and preservation of the World heritage town Luang Prabang in line with the UNESCO World Heritage Convention and observe the implementation of infrastructural development projects in and near the world heritage town.

In reply, the UNESCO official expressed thanks to the minister for her warm welcome, and informed her about the results of her assessment in Luang Prabang.
