Laos-developed LoudChat launched

The Ministry of Technology and Communications in cooperation with Sirichaleunxay Company unveiled a newly developed messaging application LoudChat in Vientiane on Apr 11.

Vice President of the National Assembly Souvone Leuangbounmy, Minister of Technology and Communications Boviengkham Vongdala and relevant officials of both sides took part in the ceremony.

“LoudChat is the first application ever developed by the Lao PDR. The app has similar features like other apps such as “WhatsApp”, “WeChat”, which can send texts, voices, images and videos, and make voice, video and group calls, share files and locations,” said President of the Sirichaleunxay Company Soulisay Sayasane.

“The development of LoudChat app and Lao Green Health Code is a cooperation project between the Ministry of Technology and Communications and Sirichaleunxay under an MOU signed on August 27, 2021,” he said.

“Over the past years, the Ministry of Technology and Communications has cooperated with many sectors to promote digitalisation. This is the government’s priority of modernization and the extension of public service to society, the Lao people, thus reflecting our self-reliance in terms of development and communications services,” said Mr Phoukong Chithoulok, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Technology and Communications.
