Laos has reported 251 new Covid-19 cases and three new deaths attributed to Covid-19 nationwide over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 140,604 including 3,176 active cases and 605 deaths, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Of the new confirmed cases, 247 were classified as domestic infections and four as imported cases including three in Champassak and one in Savannakhet.
The domestic infections included 50 in Vientiane, 33 in Huaphan, 24 in Savannakhet, 22 in Xieng Khuang and 21 each in Phongsaly and Saravan.
Yesterday, some 46 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide, Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Sisavath Soutthanilaxay told a press conference this morning.
