The National Taskforce Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has recorded 307 new COVID-19 cases nationwide over the past 24 hours.
Director General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Rattanaxay Phetsouvan told a press conference in Vientiane today that new cases included 221 imported cases and 86 local transmissions.
Of the imported cases, 195 were reported in Savannakhet, 14 in Champassak, 10 in Saravan, and 2 in Khammuan.
The local transmissions were reported in Khammuan 29, Savannakhet 26, Bokeo 13, Champassak 10, Saravan 4, Luang Namtha 2 and Vientiane 1.
Laos’ total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 16,365 including 5,019 active cases and 16 deaths.
Over 4.30 million people nationwide have been vaccinated against Covid-19 as of Sep 7 with 2.5 million people (equivalent to 34.89% of the population) given first doses and 1.8 million (25.11%) given second doses.
