Laos has posted 371 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours including 303 local transmissions with 225 in Vientiane, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Some 68 imported cases were recorded including 13 in Saravan, 42 in Savannakhet, 10 in Champassak, two in Vientiane, and one in Khammuan, a press conference held in Vientiane was told today.
Laos currently has a total of 19,185 confirmed cases of Covid-19 including 4,184 active cases and 16 deaths.
Vientiane administration has imposed ban on all travels to and from Vientiane and within four inner districts of the capital city namely Chanthaboury, Sisattanak, Sikhottabong and Xaysettha between Sep 19 and 30, 2021.
Travels to particular areas in Xaythany, Hadxayfong and Naxaythong districts are also prohibited.
The move came after Vientiane witnessed a rocket surge in community cases on Saturday.
