Laos has logged 684 new cases of Covid-19 over the past twenty four hours including 682 community cases and two imported cases, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Of the 682 community cases, 149 cases were documented in Luang Namtha, 121 in Vientiane, 101 in Saravan, 97 in Phongsaly, 46 in Borikhamxay, and 38 in Khammuan.

Six deaths were reported over the past hours with the total reaching 380.

As of Jan 2, the Lao PDR has recorded over 112,000 cases of Covid-19 including 9,122 active cases and 380 deaths.

Globally, Covid-19 has infected 289.6 million people including 1.17 million reported over the past 24 hours.
