On Monday’s morning Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone met with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong, who is on a two-day visit to Laos, Apr 10-11, to strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. Expressing a warm welcome to the Vietnamese President, Prime Minister Sonexay highly valued the visit by the President and his delegation of high-ranking officials, noting that the visit has brought warm friendship and deep solidarity to the Party, government and people of Laos.
(KPL) On Monday’s morning Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone met with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong, who is on a two-day visit to Laos, Apr 10-11, to strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Expressing a warm welcome to the Vietnamese President, Prime Minister Sonexay highly valued the visit by the President and his delegation of high-ranking officials, noting that the visit has brought warm friendship and deep solidarity to the Party, government and people of Laos.
The premier congratulated Vo Van Thuong on his appointment as State President of Vietnam. He also spoke highly of the decision made by the Vietnamese leader to choose Laos for his first overseas trip, noting that his visit demonstrates the importance the Vietnamese Party and government has attached to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
PM Sonexay informed Vietnam’s top leader that he and his counterpart have attached attention to implementing the agreements made by both sides and the results of Laos visit by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh as well as the results of the 45th meeting of Laos-Vietnam Inter-governmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation which was held in January.
At their second meeting held in Vientiane on the sidelines of the 4th MRC Summit last week, the two premiers reviewed the implementation of agreements and projects including Nongkhang Airport project, Vung Ang Port project, Laos-Vietnam Railway project, Vientiane-Hanoi Highway project, Potassium Mining project in Khammuan and Sekaman 3 Hidropower project, National Assembly project, Friendship Hospital projects in Huaphan and Xieng Khuang, Laos Vietnam Friendship Park project, , Ho Chi Minh trail renovation project, and the First Lao People’s Revolutionary Party National Congress Site Renovation Project.
In reply, the Vietnamese leader expressed his satisfaction with his meeting with the Lao premier and expressed best Lao New Year wishes to the premier and other Party and government leaders of Laos and wish the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam exist forever and bear fruit.
