PM urges sectors to address budget leaks

Giving guidance speech to the annual meeting of the Planning, Investment and Finance sectors on Dec 14, Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh urged the sectors to ensure their performance is strict and transparent, and address budget leaks.

The annual meeting of the Planning, Investment and Finance sectors was held virtually on Dec 14.

The Prime Minister asked the sectors to increase their ideological education of their staff to ensure they are loyal, ethical, love their profession, stay dedicated to their duty and obey finance regulations.

He asked the sectors to play an active role in coordinating the implementation of the national agenda on economic-financial difficulties, and stabilize the macro economy and ease economic constraints by making full use of all policies and solutions, and develop mechanisms to facilitate businesses’ access to funding and information.

He also asked the sectors to reform the state investment system, improve investment promotion mechanisms, decisively address issues on the implementation of the single window mechanisms and make the best use of special economic zones as a key economic driver.

“Next year, 2022, modernisation mechanism must continue to be improved, related laws enforced and budget leak prevented to ensure increased revenues. New laws and legal instruments must be devised to ensure proper revenue management,” stated Prime Minister.
