Vietnamese Army Officer Congratulates LPRP on 70th Anniversary

Hanoi: A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, Sen. Lieut. Gen Le Quang Minh, visited the Lao Embassy in Hanoi to congratulate its officials and staff on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP). Minh acknowledged the LPRP’s founding in 1955 as a pivotal moment, marking a significant chapter in Laos’ fight for national liberation and its continued efforts to build and protect the homeland.

According to Lao News Agency, Minh praised the LPRP’s steadfast leadership, which secured victories against colonial and imperial forces, preserved independence and territorial integrity, and drove notable progress in national development. He expressed delight at Laos’ achievements under the LPRP’s leadership and emphasized the special solidarity between the two countries’ Parties, States, and people as an invaluable asset and a fundamental principle for their survival and development.

The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence values its cooperation with the Lao counterpart, considering it a key pillar of bilateral relations. Minh noted that both sides have effectively implemented numerous practical defence cooperation activities over the past years.

In response, Lao Vice Ambassador to Vietnam, Latana Sihalaj, affirmed the Lao Party, State, Government, army, and people’s gratitude for the Vietnamese counterparts’ unwavering support throughout their journey. This support has been crucial from past struggles for independence and unification to ongoing efforts in national construction, defence, and development. Sihalaj emphasized the unique nature of the Laos-Vietnam relationship and praised the close cooperation between the two defence ministries, calling it essential for strengthening the Laos-Vietnam partnership.
