Ha Tinh province blessed with bumper spring harvest


The central coastal province of Ha Tinh entered harvest season for the 2024 spring crop in May. The spring crop was planted on 59,300 hectares (ha) of land, with a record yield of 61.17 quintals per ha, a year-on-year increase of 1.58 quintals per ha. The final output is estimated at 362,859 tons of rice, an increase of 8,837 tons of rice compared to last year. Freshly picked rice is sold at 5.8 – 6.3 million VND (228 – 247 USD) per ton, while dried rice is sold at 8.3 – 8.5 million VND (326 – 334 USD) per ton, an increase of 200,000 – 500,000 VND (7.9 – 19.6 USD) per ton compared to last year’s crop. Farmers are overjoyed with this year’s increase in yield and price of rice, giving them high returns for their hard work.
