The People’s Liberation Army of China yesterday provided 400,000 doses of Sinofarm Covid-19 vaccine and syringes to the Lao People’s Army to support its fight against Covid-19.

The vaccine batch is the second of its kind ever provided to the Lao People’s Army with the previous batch of 300,000 doses delivered in April.

The handover took place between Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in the Lao PDR Mr. Li Bing and Deputy Minister of National Defense Maj. Gen. Vongkham Phommakone in the presence of relevant officials of both sides.

At the ceremony, the Lao deputy minister highly valued the priceless and prompt assistance from the Chinese government and assured the donor that the vaccine will be used for ultimate purposes in combating and preventing the Covid-19 pandemic in the Lao People’s Army with a priority given to those working with risk groups, medics, border guards, teachers of military academies and military officers.
