Laos-China Railway Nateui Station to be opened on Feb 6

The Laos-China Railway announced on Jan 30 it will open Nateui Station for passenger service on Feb 6, 2022.

The company has also rescheduled travel between Vientiane Station and Boten Station with train C82 from Vientiane Station expected to reach Nateui Station at 11.10 am, leave the station at 11.13 am and arrive at Boten Station at 11.23 am. Meanwhile Train C81 will leave Boten Station at 11.53 am, reach Nateui Station at 12.03 am and leave the station at 12.06 am.

The Laos-China Railway has transported over 1 million passengers and 500,000 tonnes of cargo since it was launched in December 2021, the transport authorities of southwest China’s Yunnan Province were quoted as saying by Xinhua.

The cargo transported by the railway includes 100,000 tonnes of cross-border goods, according to the China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd.

The Laos-China Railway connects Kunming in Yunnan Province with the Lao capital Vientiane. It is the first overseas railway jointly constructed and operated by the two countries.
