The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has recorded 170 new cases of Covid-19 today with 149 cases classified as imported infections and 21 as community infections.
Of the imported cases, 71 cases were reported in Champassak, 44 in Vientiane, 25 in Saravan, 7 in Khammuan and 2 in Savannakhet.
The local transmissions of Covid-19 were reported in Bokeo (9), Savannakhet 6, Champassak 3, Vientiane 2 and Vientiane (province) 1.
Since March 2020, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached 8,561 including 4,092 active cases and eight deaths.
Only four out of 18 provinces in the country remain free from Covid-19. These include Xekong, Attapeu, Xaysomboun and Huaphan.
