NA’s first extraordinary session closed

The first extraordinary session of the National Assembly’s 9th legislature was closed on Tuesday following five sitting days.

The meeting was attended by the members of the National Assembly, senior officials of the Party and government, cabinet members, and representatives of Party and government organisations.

The meeting saw the approval of the national agenda on addressing economic and finance difficulties and the national agenda on tackling narcotic drug issues, amendments to Laws on Tax Management, Value Added Tax, Income Tax, and Narcotic Drugs.

The meeting also witnessed Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh, and other goverment members answering questions raised by paliamentarians and briefing people’s representatives about Covid-19 outbreak and measures designed to mitigate associated impacts.

The last day of the meeting also witnessed the handover of the National Assembly House built with Vietnam’s financial grant between visiting Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
