Prime Minister meets with Vietnamese President

Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh met with visiting President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc who is on an official visit at the invitation of the Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith between Aug 9-10.

At the bilateral meeting held in Vientiane on Aug 9, Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh noted that the visit by the Vietnamese President demonstrates the attention the Party and government leaders of Vietnam have paid to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam to bring benefits to the peoples of the two countries.

The premier expressed sincere congratulations to the Vietnamese President on his appointment to the post during a plenum of the first session of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam on July 26 and expressed his confidence that with his lessons, experience, and leadership, Vietnam will continue to grow.

Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh expressed gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Laos for the priceless assistance from the government and people of Vietnam to the Lao people to support their national development and construction, especially for Vietnam’s recent provision of medical equipment and experts to the Lao PDR to support its containment and prevention efforts against Covid-19.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese President expressed thanks to the Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh for his friendly, warm and dignified welcome that were full of fraternal amity and friendship thus demonstrating the traditional amity and friendship and livability of the great friendship, special solidarity between the two Parties, States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.
