Residents, staff of shelter for girls upgrade digital skills

The Tech4ED project aims to bridge the digital divide by improving access to information and communications technology and digital opportunities for underserved areas in the country, especially the poor, and vulnerable sectors. ‘The training is seen to create more self-reliant communities through access to connectivity, communication, information, and vital government services, thus giving equal opportunities to all,’ the DSWD-13 said. The agency lauded DICT-13 for the shared and continued efforts in assisting the HFG here. HFG, established in 1997, serves as a temporary shelter for girls in need of special protection, especially the abused, abandoned, and those in conflict with the law. Through the DSWD-13 and other stakeholders, the HFG provides rehabilitation services for the beneficiaries and prepares them for reintegration into their communitie
