WASHINGTON: US Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted another round of humanitarian assistance airdrops Monday into northern Gaza to provide relief to civilians affected by an Israeli onslaught.
“The joint operation included one C-130 U.S. Air Force aircraft and U.S. Army Soldiers specialized in aerial delivery of U.S humanitarian assistance supplies,” CENTCOM said.
The planes dropped more than 6,000 pounds of Jordanian food supplies, it added, stressing: “To date the U.S. has dropped 742 tons of humanitarian assistance.”
Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on the Palestinian territory since an Oct. 7 cross-border attack by Hamas, which killed nearly 1,200 people.
Over 33,200 Palestinians have since been killed and nearly 76,000 others injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities.
